Sassy Hoops at South Side 7/13/09

I usually attend the South Side Lamar hoop jam the first Monday of the month. However, this month I'll be attending on Monday, July 13th to hoop and have hoops for sale. I hope this doesn't throw anyone a curve ball! Thanks! Julia

Hoop Convergence

What an overload of hooping bliss! Hoop Convergence was a fantastic time. I met wonderful hoopers from all over the world. And the teachers were fantastic! So much useful information.

Maybe the best part of all was coming home with some skills that I've been wanting to get, like kickouts, the chase with two hoops, and vertical shoulder hooping. I'm still working on all of these. I know practice makes perfect!

It was a humbling experience being among so many hoop stars. I feel blessed for having the opportunity to meet, mingle and hoop with all of them. I can't wait until next year! Hooray for Hoop Convergence '09!

Sassy Hoops Apparel

I have a little hoop t-shirt shop on CafePress. I just got my personal order in today (took 7 days with regular shipping) and I'm very pleased! The organic cotton shirt is uber-soft. I also got two black t-shirts, one is a v-neck and the other is a fitted shirt.

I'm happy to retire a few ratty around the house t-shirts and sport my new sassy tees!

Hoopla at South Side tonight

I'm headed downtown tonight for the Hoopla South Side on Lamar free hoop jam.

How to find us: Enter on Belleview entrance, through the double doors between Absinthe Lounge & Opening Bell. Hoopers are hooping at the end of the hall from 7 p.m.-8 p.m.

Sassy Hoops will have demo hoops to try and hoops available for purchase! Hope to hoop with you soon!

In Stitches...

Literally. I've had two visits to the dermatologist these past two weeks and now I'm looking like Frankenstien's bride. I had two cysts removed, a small one on my shin last week and a large one on my back that had ruptured was removed yesterday. I feel so much better now that they are gone, but I look pretty horrorshow.

I've got a class starting tonight in Allen, and thank the stars for Jessica who's coming to help demo the first class. This is the first time I'm running with a "freebie" first class, 5-weeks instead of 4. I got a great response though, even with the class being on a Friday night. I'll probably stick with it for any class where I'm in control of the registration/space rental. That way it can also be a "make up" class for anyone who misses a class and it also gives people a taste to see if they like it before they invest in classes and a hoop. We'll see how it all shakes out.

Wednesday night I only had 1 student show up for the last class of my series. I guess that's what happens when you hold class during spring break weeks. She and I had a great time hooping though!
